3 things Sachin is planning before Retiring

Great first half of 2k9 for cricket lovers- high drama IPL then the T20 wc. A spectacular performance by Indian players in IPL and a forgettable one in the WC. Looking through the squad of the ODI team, Dravid and Sachin are the most aged players in the squad. Does any Indian player ever think of retiring. Over the last few years, with the Ganguly's on and off saga and the occasional ommision of Dravid, it leaves Sachin next on the cards. Shanie, Waugh, Gilchrist etc. all gave a conference announcing their retirement and we all cheered and congratulated them. When will it happen in India. People just don't even think about relaxing and sitting at home. Try, try and try again until the board throws you out. Maybe Sachin still has a lot of ambitions and goals...unfinished business. Top 3 things he might be planning before retiring-

3. Join the t20 team - after the dismal performance, this could be the best opportunity. After the show by Matt and Adam, the Indian board is already considering recall of the '83 players. Sachin maybe just licking his fingers right now as he looks on the team squad.

2. 60th wedding - there is a ritual/ceremony in parts of South India, where a couple celebrates the wedding when the man reaches 60 years of age. Although, here Sach doesnt have to wait till HIS 60, what better way to celebrate than at the Lords.

1. Bollywood - he's probably got bored of all the ads of bat slashing and secret energies. He's got to try a hit at the box office, atleast a cameo. He can work together with Aamir Khan for the 'Chhakka de India'.

Love, Actually

Before you all start making any assumptions and jump into conclusions, this has nothing to do with 'love' nor does it have anything to do with the movie. This is a different kind of love. The love that comes by habit and expression instead of feelings and emotions. Most of us might have heard or even used something like "I just loveeeeeee coca cola!!" seriouslyy??? Is that the best thing we can get, the one thing for which we would give up just anything!!! It is like perfection has been defined and no scope for anything better.

Ever wondered how we just love everything. We all just loveeed the zoozoos (whatever happened to the cute little dog??). We just keep the things we like on top, right at the pinnacle…and move on, one thing after another. We all loved the Indian cricket team during the aussie tour but not during the T20 world cup. Maybe because we are impatient, maybe because we are unsatisfied… but then isn’t that why we are so good. We are impatient, we move on if things are not our way, we don’t settle for compromises and that’s why the world fears us and Obama has to give a speech against us. We are moving fast and we want the world to keep up with us.

So what happens when we really like something, something that just comes from beyond our sphere of imagination, something that is worth it, will we still just ‘love’ it. Who the heck cares…we’ll still really really loveee it or simply just create a new word, something techno or geeky (I just geeeeeek it!!!). So for now, let’s just love what we love and get on being selfishly impatient over-enthusiastic achievers.

'Everyone dies, but not everyone lives'

Simple and yet deep quote, and it just strikes your head to just think and look back for a moment. Just lie down, relax and think and ponder and wonder and amaze...I look back at my life and I hardly remember any worthy instance (leaving those close escapes with studies and the gossips with friends) to just preserve and tell everyone 50 years later. And still, 21 years have zoomed by and I still don't know what I am going to do - the basic question every person asks you from your childhood. "Beta! kya banoge badhe hokar....doctor (the one with earphones?!) ya engineer (huh! sounds cool)". The problem is no one ever gives the answer!! One universal question that everyone has but no one ever gets the answer is the question "why". You'll just get tired of asking and the same reply always "you are too young to understand", "because it is the right thing to do".

-why do we have work during the day and sleep at night

-why do we have to learn and not understand

-why shouldn't boys cry

-why is breaking rules so 'cool'

-why aren't we supposed to question

-why do we have to work our life off to retire in peace

And one just gets the answer as we ask...we are not supposed to because we are too young to understand. So are our parents, our teachers, our friends and....everybody is just adapting to the system, a system created to make the whole beautiful little world 'organised'. The mysterious fear surrounding it makes everyone follow it. Sadly, everyone just learns not 'why' the system is but 'how' to succeed in the system, how to live the perfect life, the one having done it all seen it all.
